Join Catskill Casts & Coverts in upstate New York for the ultimate immersion into the sporting life with our Sporting Experience Cast & Blast three-day fly fishing and wingshooting school. Gain a solid foundation in both fly fishing and wingshooting. Our expert instructors and guides will provide one day of classroom instruction, one day of fly fishing instruction on the world-famous Upper Delaware River, and one day of wingshooting instruction in the field.

- $1,950 tuition includes: instruction, guides, meals noted on itinerary, ammunition, use of shotguns and fly rods.
- All students will need a valid New York State Fishing License
Itinerary
Day 1: Friday
12:00 PM Arrival at training facility
12:15 PM Meet & greet with instructors
- Assessment of skill set & experience
12:30 PM Classroom Tutorial: Fly Fishing
- Introduction to the fundamentals of fly fishing
- Discussion of gear: rods, reels, line etc
- Stream entomology
- Flies & fly selection
- Reading water & currents
- Fly casting techniques
- Hands-on casting practice
4:30 PM Classroom Tutorial: Wingshooting
- Introduction to the fundamentals of wingshooting
- Overview of the instinctive method of wingshooting
- Introduction to gear
- Shotgun safety: proper handling of fire arms
- Discussion of gauges & ammuntion
- Proper mount, stance, & shotgun fit
6:00 PM Family Style Dinner
Day 2: Saturday
9:00 AM Arrival at training center
- Continental breakfast
9:30 AM Safety briefing
- Students paired with fishing guide
10:00 AM Full-day fly fishing float trip

- No prior experience necessary. This school is geared toward the absolute beginner/intermediate angler and shooter.
- Lodging is additional and separate. Please see our list of local accommodations. We recommend staying at The Chestnut Inn. Mention the school for a special rate.
- Class will be held rain or shine! Be prepared for changing weather conditions. Wear layers and pack rain gear.
- All fishing and shooting equipment needed for the school will be provided, if necessary.
- Ten students per class. Be sure to reserve your spot!
- All students must have a valid New York State fishing license.

If you need to cancel your trip, the refund policy is determined by the cancellation date:
- 90 plus days before the trip – Full refund
- 60-90 days before the trip – 50% refund of the trip cost
- 59 days or less before the trip – No refund (100% of the trip cost is non-refundable)
- No transfers allowed
Cancellation fees are non-negotiable, regardless of the reason, including health, personal emergencies, or weather. We strongly recommend purchasing trip insurance.

Exceeded expectations
As a novice, I had only moderate expectations of the experience. The entire experience from materials, instruction, food, lodging and instruction was a great experience. The entire C&C team worked to ensure a great experience. Moreover, the other students, of advanced skill levels seemed to benefit from instruction and training in both the blasting and the casting. This experience would be great for a solo student, small groups, reunions, or even a family.

Pleasant weekend
It's like spending a long weekend with the family of Rick & Amber. The river is pristine, & the valley beautiful. The woods are peaceful. Shot a few clays in the morning and float on the river in the afternoon. Rick is nice and patient with me, a beginner w zero experience.
